Michael Fortuna is a professional writer whose own caregiving experience as a young boy was the inspiration for this book. At age nine, he became brother-caregiver for his older brother, Peter, paralyzed by polio.
He lives with his wife, Kathleen, in a small seaside town along the Massachusetts coast.
Peg Lee is a talented graphic designer and illustrator. In addition to the rearing and caring of her children, Peg watches over a small circle of elderly, providing well-being checks and essential errands.
She and her husband, Dick, enjoy living in the same seaside town as the author.
